Poeton were double award winners at this year’s Surface Engineering Association awards triumphing in the Quality and Environmental categories. This prestigious biennial event celebrates the achievements of the surface coating industry and the awards recognise Poeton for excelling in these areas.

Environmental Award

The environmental award recognises Poeton’s successful approach to good environmental practice and particularly acknowledges two recently completed projects. A waste water recycling system has been installed increasing the quality of rinse water resulting in a 69% decrease in water consumption.

A new chemical storage area has also been installed at Poeton’s Gloucester site. The new area ensures security whilst keeping it out of public sight, and vastly improves the management of waste stored on site, in turn further reducing the likelihood of any environmental contamination.

Quality Award

Poeton’s success in the Quality category demonstrates an industry leading commitment to achieving excellence in quality for all parts processed. From part specific quality plans & data cards to fully equipped laboratories monitoring all aspects of solution chemistry, ensuring the highest levels of quality is a key commitment throughout Poeton. Developing staff through NVQs and expanding quality teams has allowed a stronger focus on ensuring quality throughout and providing a better service for customers.
