About the role
Are you looking to take your first steps in your career at a successful and exciting engineering company? Do you have an interest in science and a willingness to learn and develop new skills? Then a Poeton apprenticeship could be the perfect place to start.
We are expanding our long-running apprenticeship programme to cover a wider range of roles across our business including 6x Operator Inspectors (3x at Gloucester and 3x at Cardiff), Maintenance (1x at Gloucester) and Sales (1x at Gloucester). Whichever route you take, you’ll develop new skills through practical work and formal study at college.
We have one final Operator Inspector apprenticeship position available at our Gloucester site for our 2021 intake – apply today!
It’s an exciting time to join the UK’s leading, family-owned, surface treatment experts. We’re busy expanding into new markets with our cutting-edge solutions. Our surface treatments are critical in allowing our customer’s components to succeed in new, challenging, and extreme operating conditions.
With over 120 years of experience, we’ve been involved in some of the world’s biggest and most successful engineering projects. If you want to be involved in helping rail braking systems perform efficiently, the next generation aircraft land safely, and keeping food manufacturers operating around the clock, then this is the role for you.
What will you be doing?
The apprenticeship programme is expected to last for 2 to 4 years. During this time, you will combine study at a local college with a bespoke training programme to develop your practical skills. Your apprenticeship will cover numerous sections of the business, giving you a thorough overview and understanding of our surface treatments and how we operate.
You will achieve a formal qualification and provide a fantastic steppingstone into a career at Poeton. Details of the qualification can be provided on request, as this will depend on which apprenticeship you are applying for.
Are you right for the role?
We are looking for candidates who have, or will achieve in 2021, a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or 4 and above, a willingness to learn new skills and a genuine interest in science and engineering. The apprenticeship will commence in September 2021 but the Operator Inspector role also includes 2-weeks of work experience over the summer.
