Getting Started
This section will help you get started using the APTICOTE-ISIS software.
Launching APTICOTE-ISIS
You can launch the APTICOTE-ISIS program at any time from Windows.
The installation program will have created the Poeton group window and
placed two icons in it: ISIS and ReadMe.txt. The group window looks
like this:
To launch the APTICOTE-ISIS program:
· Double-click the ISIS icon.
Using APTICOTE-ISIS
If you are familiar with using Windows applications, you are already
familiar with the techniques needed for working with APTICOTE-ISIS.
If you're not comfortable using Windows, you should run through the tutorial
provided with Windows before attempting to use APTICOTE-ISIS.
An extensive on-line help system is provided with APTICOTE-ISIS.
You can use it at any time by clicking on the HELP button or by pressing
the F1 key. Because the help system makes it easy to learn about
APTICOTE-ISIS as you work with it, the following is only a very brief
description of some of the functions available.
APTICOTE-ISIS menus
The File menu

Open Load a previously-saved consultation for continuing or modification
Save Store the current consultation.
Print Produces a report of the consultation on your printer.
Exit End the APTICOTE-ISIS session. |
The View menu
 |
Data View and edit the information you have entered.
Results View the results of the consultation.
Eliminations shows which criteria eliminate most potential solutions
Preferences sets various system options

Explain (or F1) show context-sensitive help

The APTICOTE-ISIS toolbar
The toolbar normally looks like this, although you can change it by using
the Preferences dialog from the View menu. The buttons provide quick
ways to use the menu functions described earlier. The only button
which is not a mirror of a menu command is the BACK button. This
is used during a consultation when you wish to retrace your steps.
