Super-tough new coating technology for the winning competitor
Restoring damaged cylinders at substantially less than the cost of direct
replacement; reclaiming rare or highly modified cylinders; improving
two and four stroke engine performance - then Apticote metal-ceramic
coatings have always been Formula One for both repair and OEM
applications.
Now the best gets even better with new APTICOTE CERAMIC 2000.
The outcome of extensive research into coating properties and
high performance automotive applications, APTICOTE 2000
guarantees you the super-tough coating technology you'll need
for the new engine developments to come in the 21st century.
Unrivalled for lining the bores of aluminium cylinders - or for
coating aluminium or steel liners - APTICOTE 2000 is the
ultimate engine armour, and as state-of-the-art as only Poeton
could make it.

One answer for two-stroke/four-
stroke applications
In a typical two-stroke repair application, damage may have been
caused by wear of the original bore coating, scoring from a seized
piston or broken rings, pock-marking from detonation or a broken
or cracked cylinder wall, usually at the port bridges.
In all cases, the repair procedure involves restoration by TIC
welding, precision machining and then coating with APTICOTE
CERAMIC 2000.
After cleaning off old coating, damaged
and low areas are filled with weld.

When the cylinder is bored, porosity
and impurities produced up by the welding process sometimes need an additional
repair. Gasket faces and port windows also have to be machined back
to their original profile. |
Detonation damage can be repaired, and
ceramic coating may be extended
around the top of cylinder
to give better protection. |
What makes us special?
- All process stages under continuous and rigorous quality control
- Full analysis of all process chemistry, against a tight specification
- Automatic control of all process parameters
- Precision monitoring of bore dimensions, tolerances, surface
texture and plateau profile
- Production testing of all coatings for adhesion, hardness,
ceramic particle sizing and distribution
- Our turnround time is second to none in the business.
|
Our processing capability
- Multi-station plating heads for batches of engine liners, either steel or aluminium. We can service any of the major racing Formulas
- Block plating stations, either in-line or V8, V10 and V12
- Motorcycle housing plating heads, either two-stroke or four-stroke
- Rotary housing plating stations, with stacking for multiple processing (This includes applications in aerospace and defence, for un-manned aerospace vehicles - 'UAV's)
