One Answer for two stroke/four
stroke applications
In a typical two stroke repair application, damage may have been
caused by wear through the original plating, scoring from a seized
piston or broken rings, pockmarking through detonation or a broken
or cracked cylinder wall, usually at the port bridges.
In all cases the repair procedure involves restoration by TIC
welding, precision machining and then coating with APTICOTE
CERAMIC 2000.
After cleaning off old coating, damage
and low areas are filled with weld.

| When the cylinder is bored, porosity
and impurities bubbled up by weld process sometimes need a repeat
run. Casket faces and port windows also have to be machined back
to original profile. |
Detonation damage can be repaired.
Ceramic coating-may be extended
around the top of cylinder
to give better protection. |
