| 'Legendary' Big Bore kits now available for Honda and Yamaha bike engines | 6th July 2005 |
As a result of a recent collaboration between Poeton Industries' US-based MaxPower Engines division and Rick Petersen Motorsport in California, Poeton Aptec is launching a range of 2- and 4-stroke Big Bore engine kits for Honda and Yamaha bikes in the UK and Europe.
Announcing the move a Poeton spokesman says collaboration with the legendary Rick Petersen has created performance upgrades way beyond expectations, with improvements of almost 200% achievable! The venture also brings together Aptec's 100 years coating experience and Petersen's 10-year race-engine tuning pedigree.
Honda kits are available for 2-stroke CR80/85, 125 and 250 engines and 4-stroke CRF450F engines. Yamaha kits cover 2-stroke YZ80/85/100, 125, 250 engines and 4-stroke 250F and 426F engines.
Three stages of tune are available, ranging from leisure use to the most demanding off-road racing. All use Apticote 2000, the company's proven nickelceramic motorsport bore coating that gives engines excellent oil retention and heat dissipation characteristics for longer life and real performance improvements.
Poeton also offers four Big Bore Kit options. With the first you can have a complete kit delivered to your door, which eliminates down time and allows you to strip and reassemble your machine the same day! Option two is the same as option one, but you send your old cylinder back for a refund. Option three is to send your cylinder to Aptec to be modified and returned to you in two weeks. And option four is an express version of option three that gets your cylinder back to you in just four working days!
