Poeton installs latest Water Purification TechnologyJune 2001

Poeton Industries Limited, a world leader in surface coating technology, has installed a new £15,000 de-ionising water purification plant at its Gloucester factory to increase capacity and further improve the quality of water used in its coating processes.

Poeton's Group Technical Director Colin John explains that ultra pure water must be used at certain stages of the surface treatment process to ensure that coatings are not contaminated by trace elements and that the quality and consistency of finished components is maintained.

The new plant, which has the capacity to produce 30,000 litres of ultra pure water per day, uses an advanced two-stage process to purify mains water. The first removes trace elements such as calcium, sodium, magnesium, aluminium and iron and the second removes the anions, chloride, fluroide and nitrates.
