| Poeton raises £1000 for the Headway Cotswold Trust | 7th February 2005 | Staff at surface coating specialist Poeton Industries, based at Eastern Avenue Gloucester, have raised £1000 for The Headway Trust, a charity that supports the needs of survivors of severe head injuries.
The Trust was chosen as one of Poeton's nominated charities for 2004 when employee Phil Lynn suffered a head injury and began weekly therapy sessions at the charity's accommodation in the grounds of Gloucester Hospital.
At a presentation on February 4th Daisy Dimmock, who manages the Trust in Gloucester, said she was delighted with Poeton's fundraising efforts and explained that the £1000 would be used to buy art and craft materials for the creative and therapeutic activities the Trust provides.
She went on to say that the money is particularly timely as the Trust is having to move on April 1st from its Portacabins in the hospital grounds to temporarily accommodation at the Kimbrose Day Centre in London Road, where they will be able to carry on their good work supporting the survivors of head injuries and their families.
Making the presentation, Rowenna Poeton praised the commitment and generosity of Poeton staff who raised the money with a skittles night, BBQ, auction and Christmas raffle. Raffle prizes were donated by local companies and Poeton suppliers, and the company itself donated £400.
