Apticote wins with David Coulthard in MonacoJune 2002

AND ON THE PODIUM AGAIN IN MONTREAL

Poeton Aptec Ltd, the motorsport division of surface coating specialist Poeton Industries, has supplied its Apticote Ceramic 2000 cylinder bore coating to Perfect Bore Limited, who work closely with the Mercedes engine builders that manufacture the Formula One engines for the successful Mercedes Maclaren racing team.

One of these engines powers the car driven by David Coultard, which won the recent Monaco Grand Prix and came second in Montreal.

Apticote Ceramic 2000 is a metal matrix coating system specifically developed for high performance automotive applications such as engine block cylinder bores and engine liners. Spin-offs from this technology are now being used in Nascar, NHRA, Touring Car and Historic Car restoration programmes, in both alloy and cast iron crankcases, from single cylinder to V12 applications.

Other successful teams specifying the coating are competing in the World Sidecar Championships, the National Karting Championships, the British Youth Motorcross Championships and the World Hovercraft Championships.

Ceramic 2000 is just one of more than eighty Apticote coatings. To discuss surface treatments, sample part processing or technical advice for motorsport and industrial applications call Poeton Industries now on 01452 300500 in the UK and Poeton Maxpower Inc on 001 608 224 2524 in USA.
