Environmental Policy Statement

 

 

Poeton Industries Ltd regard the promotion of Environmental Management as a fundamental part of its business objectives. The Company is committed to demonstrating sound and improving Environmental Performance through compliance with statutory duties and obligations, by reducing emissions to the environment and by the controlled use of energy and raw materials. 

 

This Environmental Policy Statement has been prepared and issued under the authority of the Managing Director and Senior Management Team of Poeton Industries Limited. It provides the framework for delivering sound Environmental Management both on site and in the wider environment. In this respect, the Company aims to:

 

a)  Maintain up to date knowledge of environmental legislation by reference to appropriate organisations and authorities such as the Environment Agency and Surface Engineering Association.

b)  Provide information, training, instruction and supervision as necessary to ensure all new and existing employees, agency workers, contractors and other visitors adopt our policy of Environmental Management

c)  Comply with all applicable environmental regulations and legislation.

d)  Appoint staff who will assist and advise management on environmental aspects of the Company’s operations.

e)  Reuse or recycle waste materials whenever possible, and minimise the use of resources (materials, fuel and energy) thereby reducing wastage.

f)  Minimise all emissions and discharges (Noise, Gaseous, Solid and Liquid) ensuring compliance with all regulatory controls and Best Available Techniques (BAT).

g)  Consider environmental effects and pollution prevention in all business decisions including the purchase of materials or equipment and the adoption of new technology/processes.

h)  Adopt a philosophy of plan, implement, check and review in order to achieve continual improvement of Environmental Management.

i)   Maintain procedures for the setting of Objectives and Targets which will be reviewed at the Senior Management Team review Meetings

j)   Integrate environmental policy into the formal Quality system, certified to AS9100 or the Health & Safety system certified to ISO 18,001 as appropriate.

 

The company holds an IPPC Licence.
